Homeowner and suspect shot during Pelion home invasion

Pelion, SC – On Saturday morning, deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Catherine Lane near Pelion after a call went out to Lexington County 911 dispatchers that someone had been shot. This happened around 1:00 a.m. and both the fire service and EMS were dispatched along with the deputies.

Caption Adam Myrick with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said, “Based on our investigation, the homeowner and a suspect exchanged gunfire during a home invasion about 1:00 this morning. Both were struck.” Myrick also said that the homeowner is in the hospital recovering from a non-life threatening injury.

The suspect is in critical condition, but he’s expected to recover. The investigation is ongoing. Deputies would like to hear from anyone who has information about the incident. They can share an anonymous tip by calling CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
