Street closures for Tunnel to Towers 5K run/walk

Lexington, SC - Friday, September 16, 2016.

 

Here is a list of street closures in Columbia for the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk Friday:

 

Start/Finish Line:

1000-1100 Lincoln Street and 900 Senate St.will be closed beginning at 5 p.m.

Lincoln St. and Senate St. are expected to reopen by approximately 10 p.m.

Gervais St.

The eastbound lanes of Gervais St. between the bridge and Assembly St. will be closed at 6:45 p.m.

The westbound lanes of Gervais St. between the bridge and Huger St. will be closed at 6:45 p.m. All westbound traffic on Gervais St. will detour northbound onto Huger St.

Gervais St. is expected to reopen by approximately 7:45p.m.

Blossom St.

The westbound lanes of Blossom St. between the Blossom St. bridge and Assembly St. will be closed at 6:45 p.m.

The eastbound lanes of Blossom St. will remain open.

Blossom St. is expected to reopen by approximately 8:45 p.m.

 

Dam Run road closures

Saturday, September 17, 2016

Traffic in both directions across the Lake Murray dam will be suspended from 7:30 until 8:30 Saturday morning for the Dam Run 10K. Bush River Road near the dam will also be affected until 10:00 by this event.

 

The 2016 Lake Murray Dam will be held tomorrow at the Lake Murray dam on North Lake Drive just north of the town of Lexington.

 

This year is the 30th anniversary of one of the fastest 10Ks in South Carolina. As always, the race starts on the Lexington side of the Lake Murray Dam and finishes in beautifully shaded Saluda Shoals Park on the Irmo side.
