Springdale PD wants to remind everyone not to move barricades

Springdale, SC - With several key roads in the town of Springdale closed for bridge construction, the town’s police department wants to remind motorists not to move construction barricades around the sites of the work.

The Rainbow Dr. bridge over I-26 is closed as the bridge is being repaired. The bridge on Leaphart Road over the interstate is also being replaced. These projects are expected to last for up to two years.

Construction zones are blocked by signs, barricades, and cones for the safety of motorists. Motorist are not to move the barricades even if they do not see anything that makes them feel that the bridge is unsafe.

Springdale Police Officers have responded to several calls about barricades being moved several times over the past weekend. This roadway is blocked for a reason. Anyone caught moving the barricades can face charges.
