WEST COLUMBIA, SC - Republicans in Senate District 26 have formed a special group to back Senator Nikki Setzler this fall.
The group, “Republicans for Setzler,” sent a letter to voters across the district last week saying Setzler’s independence and record of accomplishments make him the best choice in the November election.
“Highly respected by Republicans and Democrats alike, Nikki’s bipartisan approach has been extremely valuable to our state and our community,” the letter reads.
The letter continues, “He knows we work hard for our money, and he believes we should be able to keep as much of it as possible. Nikki has been a leader in the fight for lower taxes and more efficient government.”
The group also cited Setzler’s record on a number of issues, including funding for road and bridge repairs, greater accountability at the State Department of Transportation, job creation and economic development, stronger ethics laws, and government efficiency reforms.
Leading the Republicans for Setzler group are local residents Leo Redmond, Lynn Summer, John Bettis, Elizabeth Hook, Frank Shumpert, Katherine Plowden Burgess, Maida Sue and Ted Neeley, Melanie and Shane Thornton, Mark Burt, Toni Greer, Mike Miller, Molly Horton, Mary Sharpe, and Joe Vasquez.
