PELION, S.C. — In spite of competing for the first time at the 3A level, Pelion High School cross-country teams continued their success with two more championships this season.
Both the boys and girls teams extended their streak of conference championships. The girls team won its 10th consecutive title, while the boys claimed their ninth consecutive title.
The PHS girls cross-country team won the conference championship for the 20th time in the last 21 years. Ranked at No. 4, the boys captured their 15th title in 21 years.
Paige Driggers was the overall winner for the girls, while Chandler Stanley placed first for the boys. The PHS girls took seven out of the top 10, and boys took five out of the top 10.
