Red Bank Lowe’s evacuated after threat

November 1, 2016

Red Bank, SC – The Lowe’s on Platt Springs Rd. in Red Bank was evacuated Monday night after someone called and threatened to do harm to the home improvement store. The building and parking areas were quickly closed and evacuated and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department responded.

Deputies and store personnel searched the store for any sign of a device or anything that appeared to be out of place. They didn’t locate anything that they felt could have been used to carry out the threat.

After a thorough search, it was determined that the call was a hoax.  The store was turned back over to the management by the Sheriff’s office. By late evening, all operations at the retailer had returned to normal.

The Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation into this matter.
