Bedenbaugh selected as Rotary Student of the Month

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - Batesburg-Leesville High School senior Hunter Bedenbaugh has been selected as the November Rotary Student of the Month. Hunter is a member of the B-L High Beta Club and FFA.

He is also a member of the varsity football and baseball teams. He played on the 2013 B-L High State Football Championship team. Hunter has been on the Academic Honor Roll throughout his high school career and was selected as Student of the Term for Spanish in spring 2015. He has held several part-time jobs while in high school, is a member of Leesville United Methodist Church and is an avid hunter and fisherman. After graduation, he plans to attend Clemson University and major in Agriculture Mechanization and Business. Hunter is the son of Andy and Amy Bedenbaugh.

This year, the Rotary Clubs and Batesburg-Leesville High School have provided a designated parking space for the Rotary Students of the Month. Each month’s winner will be allowed to park in the space for an entire month.

Students of the month are named for September through May. From the nine students of the month, one student is selected to receive the Rotary Club of Batesburg-Leesville Scholarship. The scholarship winner is recognized at the May 2017 Rotary meeting. Batesburg-Leesville High School students who will graduate in May 2017 are eligible to be nominated by faculty members each month. Nominations should be students who exhibit good character, leadership potential, above average academic ability, and who participate in community service. After nominations are received, B-L High faculty will vote on a Student of the Month. The students of the month will submit a scholarship application to the Batesburg-Leesville High School Guidance Department and a committee of B-L Rotary members will select the scholarship winner.

The Rotary Clubs of Batesburg-Leesville are members of Rotary International. Rotary is a service organization dedicated to community development and the exploration of different careers.
