Fire damages home on Settlers Bend Court in Lexington

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – A home caught fire in the 100 block of Settler's Bend Ct. in the town of Lexington just before 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters and EMS responded, as did officers from the Lexington Police Department.

When they arrived, they found a single-story home with heavy smoke coming from it. They pulled several attack lines and made entry to investigate.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire shortly after their arrival. Unfortunately, the home suffered an estimated $80,000 in fire and smoke damage.

According to a spokesman for Lexington County, there were no injuries as a result of the fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, but initial reports suggest the fire started in the kitchen area of the home.
