GMS students submit essays to Sertoma Club contest

GILBERT, S.C. — Thirteen Gilbert Middle School students submitted their essays for judging in the National Heritage Essay Contest.
Students wrote essays as part of iCivics classes and represented GMS in the contest sponsored by the Lexington Sertoma Club. Members of the National Heritage Committee judged the entries.
Eighth-Grader Skylar Cheyenne Blosch received an invitation to the March 20 Sertoma Club National Heritage Banquet as the winner of the contest for GMS. Her essay is entitled “The America I Live In.”
GMS participants include Preston Kerry Price, Francis Haley Gunter, Lauren Elizabeth Hanks, Amber Nicole Patton, Emily Grace Davis, Brian Scott Scircle, Colton Paul Mason, Ashley Bryan Berry, Skyler Blosch, David Wells Sykes, Julia Elizabeth Gunter, Gavin Watson Breedlove and Ashby Paul Vining.
