Coroner reveals cause of death of man who was found dead in the woods off Fish Hatchery Road

Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has revealed the name, age, and cause of death of a man whose body was found off Fish Hatchery Road a number of weeks ago. The previously unidentified man’s remains were located in a wooded area in the 3900 block of Fish Hatchery Road near Rapha Residential Care and Lexington Mental Health. 

 

According to Coroner Fisher, John D. Spears, 48, of Pelion, SC died of natural causes. He apparently died at the location where his body was located. The reason that Spears was in the woods at that location is not known.
