GHS raises funds for local charity during pageant


GILBERT, S.C. — Judges at the annual Miss Gilbert High pageant crowned several winners on Saturday, March 25, while audience members supported a worthy cause.

Senior Natalie Michelle Lewis won the title of Miss GHS 2017, while the title of Miss Congeniality went to Ashley Faith Shumpert.

Other winners from the 2017 Miss GHS competition included Miss Senior Emily Lynn Jackson, Miss Junior Lindsey Grace Gunter, Miss Sophomore Jordan Aliyah Abney and Miss Freshman Madison Caroline Stalvey.

Samantha Ryanne Browning won Miss People’s Choice. Through People’s Choice donations, pageant guests raised $1,928 for Hope for BraveHEARTS, a local charity that funds research for congenital heart defects, raises awareness and supports children post-surgery with recovery baskets.
