Jay Loy, White Knoll High Senior, wins one of the White Knoll Business Coalition's $1000 Scholar

Lexington County, SC (Devin Ruiz) – White Knoll High School senior, now a rising USC freshman, Jay Loy has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the White Knoll Business Coalition. The award was given to two White Knoll High School seniors planning to attend in-state universities in the fall.

Jay Loy will be attending the University of South Carolina where he plans on studying political science. Jay has had an interest in political science for many years and even has aspirations to explore different roles in government. Opportunities such as running for a local representative office is the first office Jay has his sights set on.

Jay’s interest in local government has not been limited to pure curiosity, but has moved him in the past to get involved with several community service activities. Getting to know the community through building relationships and lending a helping hand was a central part of Jay’s high school journey.

Volunteer work at places such as the public library and the local zoo provide a clear indication of Jay’s commitment to the community as well as a desire to be involved. Jay is looking forward to the next few years as he pursues his dream of doing just that, becoming more of a servant to the people.
