Lake Murray, SC (Paul Kirby) The Outdoor Life Channel, in conjunction with Major League Fishing, has been filming across the state over the past week in preparation for a fishing show that will air on that popular channel in March of 2018. In total, the fishermen who’ve participated, have fished six bodies of water in SC including Lake Murray, Monticello, and Wateree.
On Friday morning, a press conference was held on the banks of Lake Murray, to talk about the importance of this event and the show in regard to marketing the Midlands, the state of SC in general, and the wonderful opportunities that are offered here in regard to fishing as a recreational sport.
Miriam Atria, the Executive Director of Capital City Lake Murray Country, helped to organize the press conference, and was instrumental in bringing the show’s filming here. She is a tireless promoter of the area and has always marketed the region as one of the most beautiful spots in the nation to live, work, and play.
On Friday, she was joined by Bailey McBride of Major League Fishing who spoke about the show's visit to SC, and the wonderful hospitability enjoyed by the staff, film crews, and fishermen during their visit here.
What follows, is a video with Bailey and pro-fisherman Keith Poche who fished during the filming of the show:
