Lexington, SC - Outfielder Nick Guimbarda has wasted little time making an impression on the Lexington County Blowfish. Since arriving on June 6, the Presbyterian College sophomore has batted .315, with 17 hits, five RBI and posted a .352 slugging percentage.
This past Friday, Guimbarda was the lone Blowfish player selected to the 19th annual Coastal Plain League All-Star Game. It will be July 9-10 in Holly Springs, N.C. at the North Main Athletic Complex.
The first night will feature a All-Star FanFest, a Mascot Kickball Game and the All-Star Home Run Derby. The All-Star Game will take place the next night at 7 p.m. and can be seen on Spectrum Cable.
Meanwhile, Blowfish infielder Zachary Spivey was one of five players up for the final spot on the West Division team.
Fans have between noon Monday and noon Tuesday to vote on the website between Spivey, Clark Brinkman, Jackson Mims, Ike Freeman and Zach Michelski. Visit www.coastalplain.com for more information.
