Irmo PD on the scene of an early morning shooting (Updated)

Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Irmo Police Department is in the early stages of an investigation into a shooting that took place shortly after 3:00 a.m. this morning. The incident happened in the 7700 block of Broad River Road.

According to Captain Courtney Dennis, spokesman for the department, one person who was injured in the shooting has been transported to Palmetto Richland for treatment. Dennis said that the incident took place in the parking lot of a convenience store and did not involve any of the store’s employees or staff.

Update: According to Captain Dennis, their investigation has revealed that an altercation took place at the gas pump and shots were fired that left one individual with a non-life threatening injuries. Irmo PD is currently searching for a blue, four door Ford Explorer. It is believed to be between a 2004 to 2008 year model, and may be driven by a black male with a black female passenger, and one unidentified passenger. .
