The River Bluff versus Chapin game's kickoff has been pushed back until 8 p.m.
The district’s other games, Gilbert versus Gray Collegiate, Pelion versus Calhoun County, Lexington versus West Florence, are all scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start. The school's athletic trainers will use the WebBlulb Globe Temperature to check the conditions related to temperature, humidity, wind speed, sun angle and cloud cover (solar radiation). If the heat and weather conditions till excessive, those game's starts could also be delayed. The heat index will factor heavily into their decisions.
They will also meet with the game officials as soon as the officials arrive at the games tonight, discuss the heat situation, and decide whether they will postpone the game start time in order to ensure the students’ safety.
