BLES 4TH graders to hide rocks in the community

Batesburg-Leesville, SC (Mackenzie Taylor) - The next time you’re running errands around town, be on the lookout for some of the hand-painted rocks that 4th grade students at BLES designed during the first week of school.

Since the theme at B-L Elementary School is “Welcome to Excellence,” every fourth grader was tasked with choosing one way that he/she could demonstrate excellence this year. Some students chose to do things like be on time to school, while others focused on more academic-specific tasks like becoming a better reader or mastering multiplication. Once students chose the method of excellence they planned to work on this year, they then painted a representation of it on their rock. For instance, a student who chose to be more attentive in class might have drawn an ear and glasses on his/her rock. All of the rocks that were designed by BLES 4th graders have the hashtag #bles4thgraderocks written on the backside.

Pictures of students with their rocks, along with brief write-ups, will be posted on the “#bles4thgraderocks” Facebook page. The rocks should start showing up around town sometime in the next few weeks.
