Rally for the Cure golf tournament to be held at Timberlake Country Club in October
Chapin, SC (Danielle Smith) - The "Rally for the Cure" Golf Tournament, an event intended to raise awareness of breast cancer, is scheduled to be held next month at the Timberlake Country Club. The tournament is scheduled for Friday, October 6th, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Timberlake Country Club is located at 222 Timberlake Drive, near Chapin, SC.
This event was created to help raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. This is the second year the event will be held. The first year's tournament was held was in 2015. That year’s play had to be rescheduled due to rain, but it was a successful event with friends and family members playing and having a great time. After skipping 2016, it was decided they would have the tournament again.
The first year, the event raised $1,400 for the foundation. In appreciation for the support, the Komen Foundation provided some of the prizes for the golf tournament winners. The other prizes were provided by generous donors and businesses.
This year's tournament golf professional is Scott Olliges. Olliges is a Class A PGA professional and has been since 2016. He has worked with the Timberlake Country Club since 2013. He and the ladies from the Timberlake Golf Association are the organizers for the "Rally for Cure" tournament.
Timberlake Country Club, a member owned club since 2008, is the only golf course on the banks of beautiful Lake Murray. It has incredible views of the lake, with the signature 18th hole having the best views. It’s a wonderful place to play!
If you would like to join Olliges and other local golfers to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, or you or your business would like to provide prizes or sponsor a hole, you can sign up to play in the "Rally for Cure" Golf Tournament by calling the Timberlake Country Club pro shop at (803) 345-9909 ext. 14.
