Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) A car wreck trapped one and injured a number of others Saturday night around 8 p.m. A number of motorists reported that traffic was at a standstill, and eventually they were being told that they would either have to wait until the crash was cleaned up, or find another way around. This all occurred on Hwy. 321 south at the intersection of Gardner’s Terrace Road.
Emergency responders included firefighters from Gaston and South Congaree, EMS units from Lexington County, and a number of law enforcement officer all responded to deal with the emergency. It took some time for the fire service to free the person that was trapped in the wreckage. Eventually, all the patients were loaded into the ambulance for transport to a medical facility by EMS.
Law enforcement officers kept the road closed while the first responders worked. They did this so that the accident scene would be safe for the firefighters, EMTs, and the patients that were in and out of the roadway.
The SCHP is in charge of the investigation. That have not yet released any of their findings regarding the cause of the crash, or if anyone has been, or will be charged.
