West Columbia, SC - Airport and Brookland-Cayce High Schools are throwing parties -- and everyone is invited.
Airport’s Flock to the Block is set for Friday, Sept. 29, before Airport’s 7:30 p.m. homecoming football game against Midland Valley.
The family friendly event starts at 4 p.m. and will feature a parade, food trucks, vendors and games. DJ Slinky is on tap for music. Festival admission is free, and proceeds will benefit Airport's ELITE program.
And next month, Brookland-Cayce will hold its Homecoming Festival.
The event, set for 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, will be a true block party, with a portion of State Street in front of the school closed to create a pedestrian-friendly zone.
The Homecoming Festival will include food trucks, homecoming floats, bouncy houses, a face-painting booth sponsored by Brookland-Cayce cheerleaders, and other activities. The festival runs from 4-8 p.m., before the football game against Edisto. Festival admission is free.
Airport is at 1315 Boston Ave.
Brookland-Cayce is at 1300 State St.
