Sheriff’s department needs public’s help to locate Minnesota Twins fan who held up a McDonalds

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to help identify a man who held up the McDonalds restaurant at South Lake Drive and I-20 last weekend. This is right at the onramp to I-20 at exit 55. The robber used a handgun to force the store’s employees to open the business’s safe before fleeing with an un-disclosed amount of cash.

According to Captain Adam Myrick of the sheriff’s department, a man who was in the store’s restroom late Sunday night, came out and encountered an employee who he pointed a gun at. He led that woman at gunpoint behind the counter. There, he came upon a second employee, and he forced them both into the office of the business where he made the employees give him some cash from the safe. After encountering a third employee who had come in, he led them all into the restaurant’s freezer before escaping with an un-disclosed amount of money.

The suspect can be described as a dark-skinned male who was wearing a dark jacket with a large, light colored, rectangular logo of some type printed or sewn on the back, another on the left breast, multi-colored patches or logos on the sleeves, and a Minnesota Twin’s baseball cap that also appears to be black. He also appears to be wearing light tan or fawn colored boots of the type that are similar to Timberlands that lace.

If you have any idea who this man is, or think that you do, please notify the Lexington County Sheriff’s

Department at (803) 785-8230 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME SC. You do not have to reveal your identity and you may be eligible for a sizable reward for tips leading to his capture and conviction.
