Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – Officers with the Cayce Department of Public Safety, assisted by deputies from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, have taken a Gaston man into custody after he shot another man in a motel room at the Master’s Inn last week. Jeffrey Curry, 49, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon.
Last week, Curry shot another man at the motel after he found his ex-girlfriend there with her new boyfriend according to Cayce DPS personnel. That man, who was shot in the abdomen, is expected to recover from his wounds.
After the incident, investigators quickly identified Curry as the shooter through the testimony of the witnesses and video surveillance footage. He was believed to have fled the scene on foot, but may have had a car nearby.
Friday morning, Cayce DPS Chief Byron Snellgrove said that they had drawn up warrants for Curry and were actively searching for him in Lexington County.. They were receiving help from the U.S. Marshals who are experts in the apprehension of fugitives.

Curry was able to elude the officers for a week, but eventually he was located and taken into custody. He has been booked into the detention center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
