Ninth Edition of Charitable Festival Will Feature German Beer, Food
Lexington, SC (James Bowers) - Residents of Lexington and the surrounding areas will have a chance to experience a celebrated German tradition at the Ninth Annual “Oktoberfest” on Saturday, October 21. The event will be held at the church which is located at 403 Park Road in Lexington. The hours for this year’s festival are 6-9 PM.
The tickets are $10.00 for take home meals (no drinks provided), $13.00 for “eat-in” with one domestic beer or glass of wine, and $15.00 for meal with German beer. Additional domestic beers will cost of $1.50, while German beers have a $2.50 price tag. The foods being prepared and served will be traditionally German fare such as bratwurst, sauerkraut, and peppers and onions.
All proceeds raised during this event will go to two organizations according to event organizer Gertie Farnum. Some will be used to help support LICS, or Lexington Interfaith Community Service. This is a well-known organization dedicated to assisting financially-troubled families in Lexington County with the acquisition of basic needs such as food and clothing.
The other beneficiary is an ongoing church mission in Ecuador. The church’s mission there helps to educate the children in that country. . is one of several charitable endeavors by St. Albans throughout the year. The church also frequently collects canned goods at its services, and supports several other missions.
