Pelion Marching Panther Band wins Lower State Regional AA Title at Saturday band competition

Pelion, SC (Paul Kirby) The Pelion High School Marching Panther Band won the Lower State AA Regional title at a contest which was held at White Knoll High School Saturday. This is their third win of that title in the last four years.

The Panthers, under the directions of Otto Hage, were greeted with a police escort by the Pelion PD upon returning home. The patrol car began the escort at the town’s limits at Forts Pond Elementary School, and led them all the way back into the high school where throngs of cheering fans lined the sides of Lydia Street to shout, wave, and celebrate the great performance and hard work of the students. At the high school, they disembarked to a huge crowd of cheering parents. siblings, and supporters.

Hage said during a post competition interview that he was exceptionally proud of the students, his staff, the hardworking parents of “The Pit Crew,” and everyone else who contributed to the Panther’s success year after year.
