South Congaree police officers arrest two on charges of breaking into multiple cars

South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) South Congaree Police Officers have arrested two teens on charges that they broke into multiple cars in the area recently. According to the police, Garrett Dalton Chavis and Eric Eugene Riley were both arrested and charged with several counts of Theft from Motor Vehicle, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Conspiracy. The arrests come after an investigation into several auto break-ins in the town of South Congaree. The police said that other local agencies were contacted and additional charges are forthcoming.

South Congaree police have said that some of the property stolen in the auto break-ins has been recovered. Officers are working to track down the other property that’s still missing.

The South Congaree Police Department would like to thank local citizens for providing video security footage which helped lead to the identification of these perpetrators. They are both in jail awaiting bond hearings in this case.
