Supporters gather at pizza party to celebrate Knight’s victory in Chapin
Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – A victory party was held Saturday at the Lake Murray home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Jonell Shealy to celebrate the recent victory of David Knight. He was elected last week as the mayor of Chapin and will be sworn in next January. Knight defeated Skip Wilson who had served the area for the last four years. The well attended event featured homemade pizzas that were hot out of the oven as well as drinks and a beautiful congratulatory cake. A television was also provided so that everyone could catch the football games.
Mayor-elect Knight attended with his wife Holly, as did former Mayor Stan Shealy who ran Knight’s campaign. Joyce and Lewis Ballington were in attendance, as well as Councilmember Kay Hollis and her husband, Councilmember Robbie Frick, Councilmember Mike Clonts, Fred and Martha Stuart, Councilmember-elect Al Koon and his wife Susan, Glenda Lindler Martin, Leisha Wessinger, and several others.
The pizzas were made by George Bollibon, son-in-law of Gerald and Jonell Shealy.
