LaVie​ ​Pregnancy​ ​Care​ ​Center​ ​now​ ​open​ ​in​ ​Lexington

Lexington, SC - LaVie Pregnancy Care Center announced the opening of Lexington County’s newest and only pregnancy care center on November 2. The center is located at 1271 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington SC 29072, next to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, near Lexington High School. The pregnancy center opened November 2nd, and provides services such as pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, peer counseling, maternity support items, adoption referrals, post abortion recovery, future father support and much more, all at no cost to the clients. LaVie is a ministry of LICS (Lexington Interfaith Community Services).

Executive Director of LICS, Robin Bowers says “This has been a prayerful two year process for LICS, knowing that these services were not available to Lexington women and men. We are excited to open the doors of this much-needed resource in Lexington County and look forward to serving those facing unexpected pregnancy decisions. We want them to know that there are people who care and are willing to help meet their needs here in our community.”

LICS has had a presence in Lexington County for over 39 years, serving neighbors in crisis situations. The opening of LaVie Pregnancy Care Center expands the services available to individuals and families in the Midlands.

Bowers credits St. Matthews Lutheran Church, the board at LICS, and the community for helping to make the new center a reality. “We are grateful for the financial support from the community which is necessary to meet the needs of our many clients who seek out our support in their time of need.”

Committed staff and volunteers at their center provide free, confidential services including pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams, one-on-one counseling with women and men, and post-abortive support. They also meet the material needs of expectant mothers by providing maternity and baby clothing, diapers, bottles and other baby items.
