Three vehicle collision causes injuries, traffic delays during Wednesday’s commute near Lexington Sheriff’s Department

November 30, 2017

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) A three vehicle collision that we first reported during Wednesday’s edition of Good Morning Lexington County occurred near the intersection of Gibson Road and Clark Streets close to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department during the height of the morning commute. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found one vehicle on its side and several others damaged.

Firefighters and EMS personnel attended to the injured occupants of the cars while police officers dealt with the traffic that was rapidly backing up. This area is often used as a way to bypass downtown Lexington, and when the lanes were blocked because of the crash, commuters began to rapidly back up in traffic.

Eventually, all the injured were treated, the cars were towed, and the road was reopened by police officers. Lexington police officials have not said who was at fault or who, if anyone, had been charged.
