Swansea man killed in wreck on Hwy. 321 south at Glenn Road

Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) – A Swansea man was killed Friday morning after the car he was driving collided with a tractor trailer truck at the intersection of Hwy. 321 south and Glenn Road. The accident happened about 10:00 a.m.

Fire, EMS, and law enforcement officials were dispatched to the collision and found Louis Connelley, 72, of Swansea had died after the pickup truck he was driving struck the side of a tractor trailer truck that was coming out of Glenn Road across Highway 321. According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Connellley was dead on arrival of emergency workers as a result of injuries he sustained in the wreck.

Mr. Connelley, who was wearing a seatbelt when the collision occurred, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office is investigating the crash with the assistance of the SC Highway Patrol.
