Former Irmo assistant fire chief charged with domestic violence

December 15, 2017

LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies arrested a former Irmo assistant fire chief Tuesday night. Clyde Thomas, 47, is charged with third degree domestic violence.

Thomas was taken into custody at his residence on Berl Mar Road in the Columbia area of Lexington County. Deputies conducted an investigation and determined there was probable cause to arrest him as the primary aggressor in a physical confrontation with his wife.

Thomas resigned his position as assistant chief of operations with the Irmo Fire District Tuesday night. He was released from the Lexington County Detention Center Wednesday after a judge granted him a personal recognizance bond.
