Deputies and helicopters in the Red Bank area cause concerns for residents Thursday night

December 22, 2017

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies, assisted by at least one helicopter from a state agency, caused a great deal of concern for residents in the area around Longs Pond, Nazareth, and Muddy Springs Roads Thursday night. Many of the residents took to social media and also requested more information from The Lexington Ledger regarding the law enforcement presence.

According to Captain Adam Myrick of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, the department was searching the area for a man who ran away from a traffic stop. Myrick said that the department subsequently determined there were also warrants out for his arrest. He went on to say that despite their efforts and teamwork with the other agencies who assisted, the subject was not located, and the department ended their search later in the evening. Myrick ended by saying, “Our work on this case will continue.”
