Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is performing an investigation into a death just north of the town of Gaston. A number of people inquired about what was going on after seeing crime scene tape and deputies going in and out the home on Casa Dell Road between Fish Hatchery Road and Wood Trail Drive.
According to Captain Adam Myrick, spokesman for Sheriff Koon, the department was at a home in the 100 block of Casa Dell near Gaston Saturday morning conducting a death investigation. This does not mean that a crime has been committed, just that someone has passed away, and there are some questions regarding that individual's cause of death. Investigators treat the area as a crime scene until that cause can be determined. It may turn out that the death was not a crime. In that instance, the sheriff’s department would end their investigation.
