Irmo police officer make arrest, find drugs during warrant service

January 24, 2018

Irmo, SC - Yesterday evening investigators with the Irmo Police executed a search warrant as part of a drug investigation. Police had information that fentanyl and other drugs may be inside a home on Parlock Road in the New Friarsgate subdivision. Due to the possibility of fentanyl being at this home, extra precautions were taken to protect the officers and citizens including the people inside the home. “Most neighbors were concerned due to the increased law enforcement presence and Hazmat precautions being used however all of this was necessary. Fentanyl is a dangerous and powerful drug that can cause harmful and sometime deadly affects to anyone who comes in contact with it.” said Irmo Captain Courtney Dennis.

Investigators did search the home and found marijuana and other substances including a small amount of a white powdery substance along with syringes that are being sent to the lab for testing. Once the test results come back appropriate charges will be made.

Officers did arrest David Senko for Simple Possession of Marijuana. He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center for booking. “We appreciate the assistance from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Richland EMS, and Columbia Fire Department for helping us keep our community and officers safe. We encourage the community to contact us if they notice any suspicious or criminal activity” said Irmo Police Chief Don Perry.

To report suspicious or criminal activity the public is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC or utilize the new P3 Tips App by downloading it in your app store.
