Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) The Town of Chapin held a drop-in at the town hall Thursday night to honor the newly elected mayor and town councilmembers. It also included a Taste of Chapin that featured light foods from a number of eateries in the town. The whole thing was arranged by Mayor David Knight’s talented wife Holly, and a few community minded helpers.
Back in November of 2017, Knight was elected mayor. The voters also elected Al Koon and Preston Baines to fill two council seats being vacated by retiring councilmembers. Thursday night’s drop-in gave anyone who didn’t know, or hadn’t met the trio, an opportunity to meet, greet, and congratulate them.
The food was provided by Zorba’s, the Tipsy Toad, La Fogato, J. Peters, the China Wok, Catch 22, and Adrienne Thompson, a former town employee, who brought a table full of wonderful sweets. The small town is blessed to have a number of great restaurants and all of the food was absolutely delicious. A local band, the Time Pirates, also played some oldies and other popular tunes.
If you missed meeting the new leadership team, the next town council meeting will be held at the town hall on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
