Wreck near Chapin seriously injures vehicle’s occupant

Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) A vehicle accident on St. Peters Church Road near Chapin seriously injured one person who was involved Sunday afternoon. The accident was reported around 1:00 p.m. in the 900 block close to Frick’s Outlet Road.

Paramedics and firefighters arrived quickly and began to care for the injured. At some point, it was decided to request a Lifenet helicopter to transport a patient to the trauma center at Palmetto Richland. The county has not said how many total were injured. The helicopter landed at the corner of Murray Lindler and Chapin Roads where the person was transferred to the helicopter for the flight. Another fire engine from the main station out of Chapin prepared that landing zone for the landing and transfer.

The accident is being investigated by law enforcement. There are few details available at this time. They have not released the cause of the accident, or if any charges will be filed.
