Red Bank woman dies at hospital after morning collision while enroute to work
Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – The family of a longtime Red Bank resident says she has died after being involved in a car collision while on her way to work at the Hardees on South Lake Drive near Platt Springs Road. She had worked there in the kitchen making biscuits for many years. According to her daughter, Judy Kaney died around noon at Palmetto Richland Sunday from injuries they believe she received in the accident.
Kaney had lived off Platt Springs near the Village Store for many years. She went to work at Hardees most days, but otherwise led a quiet life. She had four grandsons who she enjoyed that lived in Pelion along with her daughter and son-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband.
The SCHP is still investigating the accident and hasn’t released any findings at this time.
