West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) Firefighters from Lexington County responded to an RV that was on fire on Shampy Street off Rainbow Drive after 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night. The fire was reported to be threatening a structure as well. When the first fire units arrived, they found that the recreational vehicle was in fact well involved in fire.
The fire service teams pulled their hoses and made quick work of the fire. Within a very short time, the fire was reported to be under control. Although a number of units were dispatched because of the threat to the structure, many that were coming from some distance were released to return to their quarters before they even arrived.
The exact cause of the fire hasn’t been released, and the fire service hasn’t said what the estimated dollar loss of the vehicle was.
