One-person dead after fatal wreck on I-26 near St. Andrews
St. Andrews, SC (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said that one woman has died as a result of a motor vehicle collision near mile marker 106 on Interstate 26 eastbound just after midnight on March 25, 2018. According to Coroner Fisher, Ms. Sydney Jordan Burnsed, 20, of Blythewood was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries she sustained in the collision.
Law enforcement investigators say that Burnsed’s vehicle was traveling in the left lane when it struck another vehicle that had been disabled by a prior accident. She was not wearing her seatbelt when the crash occurred. The other vehicle was unoccupied when the collision happened.
