Springdale PD investigating shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning
Springdale, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Springdale Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Lyndale at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. According to Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett, although the department is in the early stages of their investigation, they do not believe that there is any danger to the public as a result of this incident. Chief Cornett said that his department is working leads and he believes that they will make an arrest later today based on the results of their investigation to this point. An ambulance from Lexington County and a fire engine from Pine Grove also responded. Chief Cornett said that there are no life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
The 600 block of Lyndale is near where it intersects with Oakdale in what is known as the Dales, an older, more established portion of the town. Springdale as a whole is a very quiet, family-oriented community. It has very little crime that occurs, and what does is normally associated with the businesses that cluster around the interchange of I-26 and Airport Boulevard.
