Short car chase ends with car in the ditch and driver in custody
Pelion, SC (Paul Kirby) – A person who was thought to be having some emotional difficulties led Lexington County sheriff deputies on a short chase yesterday before the pursuit ended at Fish Hatchery and New Hope Church Roads near Pelion. A number of citizens reported that the deputies were chasing the small sedan further back east of Pelion on Fish Hatchery before it ended up in the ditch with its driver in the custody of law enforcement.

During the chase, that individual was driving in a reckless manner. Other LCSD units joined in and were able to bring the pursuit to an end.
Once the car went into the ditch and the chase was over, Lexington County EMS personnel were on the scene quickly to render aid and deal with the driver who wasn’t seriously injured. The sheriff’s department hasn’t reported any of their personnel was injured in the incident either.
