Thursday’s wreck makes child the latest victim of deadliest stretch of highway in Lexington County

June 1, 2018

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher says that a 9 year old child died in a car accident on I-20 Thursday afternoon. Fisher and her staff had just recently released their 2017 year-end report that named I-20 the deadliest road in Lexington County last year. That report (Find It Here) attributed eight of our county’s 47 vehicle wrecks in 2017 fatalities to I-20. Thursday’s accident occurred near mile-marker 63 east completely shutting those lanes until a detour could be established. The crash happened right at 1:00 p.m.

According to Coroner Fisher, nine-year-old Kade Crocker of Lexington was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained. The vehicle, in which Kade was a passenger, collided with a vehicle that had stopped.
