Death at Downturn; A Murder Mystery Dinner Event
You’re invited to Downturn Shabby to help solve the murder of the Earl of Grandham.
Irmo, SC - The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library will present “Death at Downturn,” a murder mystery dinner, at The River Center at Saluda Shoals Park on Saturday, July 14. This is the fifth year for the annual murder mystery dinner fundraiser.
Downturn Shabby, the ancestral home of the Earl and Countess of Grandham is hosting a shooting party, but when the Earl is found dead in the library suspicion falls not on the bloodthirsty men who are grouse-shooting, but on the gossiping, teas-drinking ladies who have gathered for the evening’s dinner party. The question on everyone’s lips is who hand bagged the Earl and why?
An audience participatory evening of fun, prizes and mystery, attendees will be entertained by local actors and other celebrities as the plot unfolds and we learn who murdered the Earl. Special guest appearance by Lexington County Public Library Director Kelly Poole.
“We are excited about the prospect of making this year our fifth consecutive sold-out event. This promises to be the best yet!” said Friends of the Irmo Branch Library President Barbara Streeter.
The event includes a buffet meal, cash bar, costume contest and door prizes. Grand prize to the table that solves the mystery. The evening starts at 6 p.m.and should end around 9 p.m. when the mystery is solved and the murderer revealed.
Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased online at www.friendsoftheirmobranchlibrary.org or in person at the Irmo Branch Library at 6251 St. Andrews Road. Priority seating with a single purchase for a table of 8.
