Chapin & Newberry, SC (Connor Radtke) – The Greater Chapin Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Newberry Chamber of Commerce this past Thursday to hold their “Sizzlin Summer” Business Expo. Local companies from all around the area gathered together and hosted tables for locals and other businesses to come and find out more about them and what they do. The expo was held at Mid Carolina Country Club. It was moved there this year because the two chambers were trying to get more people from the Newberry area to become involved with local businesses and the chambers in both areas.
The expo started at 5:30 pm and continued until 7:00 pm. During the event, members and those in attendance browsed from table to table taking literature, talking about themselves and their businesses, and in general just networking. The evening ended with a drawing for the door prizes. Each business donated something of value to be used as a door prize, and it was a great deal of fun to see these things given away to those in attendance. Everyone in attendance seemed to enjoy the food, meeting new people, and sharing a little bit about themselves and their businesses.
The next Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce event will be hosted by the town of Chapin. It will be a speed networking event on July 19th. The event will be held at The Hyatt Place in Columbia/Harbison and will start at 5:00 pm and end at 7:30 pm. Each attendee will have the chance to meet a new professional contact every three minutes. The space is limited to 40 patrons, so anyone interested in participating in this event should contact April with the chamber at (803) 345-1100.
