Red Bank-White Knoll, SC (Paul Kirby) – A woman who was found to have passed away while in a parked car behind the Wal-Mart off South Lake Drive in the past several days, died of apparent natural causes according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher. Someone had discovered the woman’s body in the car and notified emergency services and law enforcement officials.
Fisher said that she had personally been working on that case much of Monday and had even returned to the Wal-Mart to look at security footage from other cameras. She was able to locate one that did see the woman pull into the area where she had parked. According to Fisher, that angle showed the woman drove in but never got out of the car once she stopped. She also said that no one had approached the vehicle until the body was found.
Coroner Fisher said that she and her staff saw nothing to indicate there was any illicit drug use and it appeared as if this was just a natural part of the life and death process. She said that she certainly wanted to offer family members her condolences and prayers and hoped the woman’s family would find peace and could now be left by the community to grieve their lost loved one. In general, we do not identify people who die of natural causes by name for the privacy of their family.
