Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Troopers with the SC Highway Patrol said late Thursday that they have made an arrest in the hit-and-run death that killed 19-year-old Tijhee Salley last weekend. According to the SCHP, Kyle Roach, 33, has taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene involving death.
Tijhee Salley was riding a bicycle along YMCA Road in Red Bank last Friday with friends when troopers believe Roach hit him from behind and then fled the scene of the accident. A few days later, troopers were able to release a picture of a vehicle similar to the make and model that was involved in the incident. The SCHP say they received a tip about who was driving the vehicle after seeing published news reports about the incident.
Roach has been booked into the Lexington County Detention Center and will have a bond hearing at 10 a.m. Friday.
