Fatal crash has most of Hwy. 321 south shut down near Charleston Highway

July 6, 2018

Dixiana, SC (Paul Kirby) A fatal crash that was dispatched as a motorcycle versus a tractor trailer truck originally closed all four lanes of Hwy. 321 south near the Charleston Highway split around 6:00 a.m. Friday. A representative of the SCHP has now said that one northbound lane going into Columbia is reopened. The fire service, EMS, and some law enforcement officers are already on the scene dealing with the tragic accident.

The accident happened just before 6:00 a.m. and because we are reporting this early into the incident, absolutely no details are available. A representative of the coroner’s office is enroute, but it could be some time before this incident is resolved and all lanes are reopened.

The death will be investigated by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the accident itself by the SCHP.
