Deputies investigating fatal shooting in Swansea

Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department had deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Toole Smith Rd. near Swansea late Wednesday night in response to a shots fired call. When they arrived on the scene, they found one man who had apparently suffered at least one gunshot wound. He was transported by EMS for medical treatment to a local hospital. A spokesman for the LCSD said that they have since learned he has died.

 

Currently detectives are interviewing witnesses and crime scene investigators have been collecting potential evidence. At this time, the investigation is in its early stages. We will continue to update this story as it becomes available.
