Attorney Christian Stegmaier running for SC Senate District 20 in Lexington and Richland counties
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) Christian Stegmaier, an attorney who works with hospitality and retail businesses, has said that he is running for the SC Senate in District 20. District 20 covers a large area of Richland County, but extends into Lexington County in and around the town of Irmo and parts of Lake Murray. This is the seat formerly held by Senator John Courson, who resigned recently after being indicted and later resigning because of the RQA scandal.
If he is elected, Stegmaier says that he will fight for lower taxes and better infrastructure in order to make our region more competitive to industry and business, but also for the benefit of the people who live here. He also pledges to fight for term limits and meaningful ethics reform. In a recent statement Stegmaier said, “This seat belongs to YOU, not any politician, and all public officials should be held accountable for breaking your trust.”
Stegmaier is an Eagle Scout and long-time resident of the Columbia area. He has dedicated much of his life to serving his community. He is a devoted husband and the father of two daughters. His family is just one reason Stegmaier says he is dedicated to keeping our neighborhoods safe and improving the quality of education.
