Springdale officers arrest woman for burglary
Springdale, SC - On July 27, 2018, officers from the Springdale Police Department responded to the 900 block of Tarrytown Lane in reference to suspicious activity observed by a local resident. Officers made contact with a 32-year-old woman and eventually arrested her for several charges, including burglary.
An anonymous neighbor called police after he/she observed activity at a house that led them to believe that the house was being burglarized. Officers quickly arrived at the home and found a woman lurking about the house that had obvious signs of a burglary. In the course of the investigating, the woman lied about her identity and eventually provided a man’s concealed weapon permit as her identification.
At one point in the process of questioning the woman, she was allowed to sit in her car. Inside, officers could observe bullets and a bag of methamphetamine in plain sight. She was found to be in possession of more than a gram of methamphetamine, marijuana, a pistol, and numerous items that were found to have been stolen from a house in Columbia during a burglary.
The woman was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, unlawful carry of a firearm, burglary, possession of burglary tools, and financial transaction card fraud. She was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center. Investigators from Springdale are working with investigators from Columbia to return the numerous stolen items.
