Greater Chapin area Chamber of Commerce holds ribbon cutting for 2017/18 Mobile Members
Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – On Thursday, August 16, 2018, the Greater Chapin Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for all of their new members who have become a part of the chamber in the last calendar year, but do their business without the benefit of a brick and mortar location. These are what’s known as the chamber’s Mobile Members.
According to April Robinson, one of the staffers at the chamber, it’s tough running a business, but it’s easier when the Mobile Area of your Chamber of Commerce has your back! The Chapin Chamber hosted the afterhours member meeting to promote all of their new Mobile Members from August 2017 to July 2018 in order to help nurture those businesses that may not be in plain sight. During the event, Chapin Chamber Members were encouraged to come and introduce themselves and also welcome these new mobile businesses to the community and chamber.
As members gathered, a quartet of talented young men from the Chapin area serenaded the crowd with live easy listening tunes. They were call the Four Fields and three of them were brothers and the other a cousin. They were wonderful! All of the delicious food was provided by Karen's Mobile Kitchen & Catering, one of the Mobile Members that does catering for all types of events. There were also cold drinks provided of various kinds.
Both Representative Chip Huggins who represents the area in the SC House, and Chapin’s Mayor David Knight were on hand to welcome these business leaders and present them with certificates and resolutions on behalf of the governments they represent for investing in the Chapin area business community. Representative Huggins was accompanied by his lovely wife Ginger during the event.
Mobile members who were recognized and had an opportunity to snip the ceremonial ribbon on Thursday were Convergent Designs, a website builder owned and operated by Bill White, Crimm's Creek Electric Inc., a licensed electrician, Karen's Mobile Kitchen & Catering, the caterer who prepared all the food for the event, and OCD Quality Cleaning Services, LLC, a cleaning service, and Kate Voss of Midland's Area Senior Services.
